The quartet was formed at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and is Resident Ensemble at the Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia in Madrid and at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff. Recent engagements include concerts at the North Norfolk Music Festival\, the Bath Festival\, St Jude’s Festival and at the Buxton International Festival. \nThe Hospital of St Cross\nHenry of Blois\, Bishop of Winchester\, founded the Hospital of St Cross between 1132 and 1136\, and the principal activity of the Hospital continues to be the provision of individual\, private apartments for a living community of about twenty-five elderly men. Kirker has supported the Hospital for a number of years\, contributing to the costs of maintaining the Grade I listed buildings\, including the Norman church and beautiful walled garden.

DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome Dr James Wright; building’s archaeologist & broadcaster/presenter on Channel 4’s The Great British Dig and BBC Radio 4’s The Hidden History Of…… as well as appearances on Time Team\, Mystic Britain\, and Discovery Science channel ‘Unearthed’. \n\n\nTo promote Dr Wright’s recently launched book ‘Historic Building Mythbusting’ James has been on a three legged tour around our Island giving a hilarious talk that picks over commonly believed and repeated tales about ancient buildings; delving into each well-worn story to investigate whether they are true or indeed a myth! \nDr Wright will be giving a talk here at The Hospital of St Cross\, in one of our most stunning medieval buildings; The Brethren’s Hall.
