Tearooms: The Hundred Men’s Hall

**CLOSED FOR THE CHILLY SEASON UNTIL 1st APRIL**

Step into a slice of history at the Hundred Men’s Hall Tearoom, once the dining hall for the Brothers, now a beloved haven for visitors. Nestled within the medieval courtyard of the Hospital of St Cross, it’s a welcoming spot where heritage meets heart—still run by volunteers, still offering all who come a warm smile and a great cup of tea (or coffee!).

Tasty Treats for all

Located within the serene Outer Quad courtyard, the tearoom occupies a beautiful medieval hall—once where up to a hundred poor men were fed daily. Today, it’s a quiet and charming setting to rest after exploring the site, framed by historic stone walls and gentle garden views. Volunteers behind the counter continue the tradition of community and warm welcomes. Prepare to enjoy…

  • Delicious homemade cakes & bakes with no preservatives, E numbers or other nasties
  • Gluten free and vegan options so there’s something for everyone
  • Light lunches and yummy simple savouries, including Hoxton Bakehouse’s legendary buns, plus Phat ‘n Proper Cprnish pasties and sausage rolls
  • A great selection of hot & cold drinks, plus ice creams in the summer

Our counter changes through the season; ask the team what’s fresh today.

EVERYONE'S WELCOME!

We’re happy to welcome well-behaved dogs both inside the tearoom and outdoors. Water bowls, doggie treats, and plenty of fuss available!
